Sachin Steel Inc.’s policy for reimbursement ONLY covers material defects and does not include labor charges for the client or end user, shipping charges, costs associated with transferring products to or from third-party processors, unutilized production costs, or any other miscellaneous costs related to claims resulting from material defects.
Sachin Steel Inc.’s guarantee only applies to conformity within ASTM specifications, unless stated otherwise in the sales order confirmations. It is the responsibility of the customers to include any specific technical requirements related to the intended use of the material in their purchase orders, which will be evaluated and confirmed by Sachin Steel Inc. The company is not liable for any end-use failure as long as the supplied material meets ASTM specifications, unless otherwise stated at the time of order acknowledgement. If a non-conformance issue arises, and the mill test reports indicate that the material is within ASTM specifications, it is the responsibility of the customer to provide evidence to the contrary when making a claim.
In the case where the product is purchased from a depot, any claims related to water staining or other moisture issues must be filed within 60 days of the invoice date. This time restriction also applies to mill direct purchases.
To file a claim for inherent metallurgical quality or concealed defects, it is required to do so within 30 days of the material invoice date. After this time limit, no claims will be accepted under any circumstances.
Sachin Steel Inc. does not accept third-party initiated claims. The responsibility for any expenses or damages resulting from third-party processing rests solely with the customer.
Coil Stock Rejection Procedures:
In order to ensure proper claims processing of quality-related claims concerning coil, the line operator must retain the original mill label that contains the manufacturer’s information until the material is processed satisfactorily. It is necessary to provide a photo of the original mill label along with detailed photos of the defects discovered when making such claims.
Sachin Steel Inc. provides a guarantee of a minimum yield of 97% based on the net weight of the coil, which assures the customer of a minimum yield of 97% of the material’s weight within the coil provided that it is processed according to standards.
When a defect is noticeable at the start of an individual coil, Sachin Steel Inc. requests the processing of up to 10% of the coil weight to evaluate the degree and persistence of the defect. If the defect remains persistent, processing should be halted. The remainder of the coil, along with the processed metal, should be kept aside for inspection by Sachin Steel Inc. and immediate notification to the company made.
Sachin Steel Inc. asks for processing of up to 10% of the coil weight if a defect is visible at the beginning of an individual coil to assess the severity and duration of the defect. Processing should be stopped if the defect persists, the remaining coil and the processed metal should be set aside for inspection by Sachin Steel Inc. and prompt notification to the company made.
In the event that a defect emerges toward the center of the coils, Sachin Steel Inc. requests that processing should continue for around 1000 pounds to evaluate the extent and consistency of the defect. If the defect persists, it is imperative to stop processing. The remaining coil, along with the metal that is identified as defective, must be set aside for inspection by Sachin Steel Inc. and prompt notification to the company made.
If a defect is detected towards the end of the coil, Sachin Steel Inc. allows the processing of the remaining coil up to a maximum of 2,000 pounds. After the processing is done, the material should be kept aside for Sachin Steel Inc.’s inspection and determination of its final use or disposition.
Claims for material that has been processed beyond the allowable limits, stated above, will not be accepted.
Formal notifications are required, by way of email, to initiate the claims process.
If the delivery is made with water stains, is wet, or is damaged, the following information must be provided immediately after delivery to initiate the claim processing:
If the above-mentioned details are not provided in a timely manner, the claim may be denied.

Omission of the aforementioned details may result in a denial of the claim.
Upon claims approval, final disposition will be determined based upon sales price less scrap value as indicated by the customer. Sachin Steel Inc. reserves the right to utilize the American Metal Market daily quotations to determine scrap value.
When desired, the company may request a return of goods in an effort to rework or eliminate the defects noted. If achieved, all efforts will be made to return to the customer within a timely period.
Until final disposition, ALL products in question must be maintained for inspection by all parties, e.g. the company, logistics agency, insurance agents, the producing mill, or third party inspectors.
Returned products must be tightly banded, secured for transit, and containing Sachin Steel Inc.’s tag information, clearly visible.
Failure to comply with the above requirements or procedures may result in a claims denial. ALL claims will be denied should the product in question be no longer present for Sachin Steel Inc. to inspect, scrap, export, sell as secondary, rework, or return.
